Too Much Awesomeness

Redecoration Station: First stop, the bedroom!

Fact:  When someone invites you to move into their house, it's only fair for you, the new person, to get to redecorate.

Boyfriend has lived like a boy for many, many years.  When I asked him about the curtains in his living room, he explained that they were there when he moved into the house...  Eleven years ago!  Needless to say, those curtains are now gone!

The walls in the house are all white, with small black and white photographs.  While the photographs are beautiful (and taken by Boyfriend himself!), they get lost on the big walls. 

My first task is brightening things up, and I'm starting with the master bedroom.  I got Boyfriend to sign off on  my painting the bedroom grey.  But there are lots of colors of grey:

The second from the top - Silver Plum - is a strong contender.  So is Idyllic Blue and Winter Evening.  So many choices!

The paint swatches to the right are all my ideas for accent colors - I'm leaning towards dark blues (the middle blue in the swatch) & yellows! 

Me to Brad: Shut up!

Dear Brad Pitt,

It has to my attention that you are very angry at the paparazzi. You think they should be outlawed and said: "Let me be very blunt: I hate them. I hate these people. I don't understand why they do that for a living.”

OK, Brad.  I get that not everyone can be paid millions to stand around looking hot and mumbling dialogue.  But you can't have it both ways.  You can't sell pictures of your wife breastfeeding that you took yourself:

and then think that people shouldn't express an interest in your "private life".  So tell Angelina to put her top back on and you and the kids can all move back to Missouri, where we'll all forget about you in a few years. 

Or shut up.

Things I've Learned

At the end of this week, Boyfriend and I will be celebrating three years together.

Something that I learned last night when mentioning our anniversary:

It's okay to say "We've been together a long time!"

It is not okay to say "We've been together too long!"

Telling someone that you've been together too long can be perceived as mean and hurtful.

I learned that the hard way, so thought I'd pass that wisdom along.

Christmas Came Early - I have a new Kitchenaid Mixer!!

Christmas came early for me this year!

Boyfriend took advantage of the post-Thanksgiving sales, and I got the shiny new mixer that I've been dreaming of for years!

 

I couldn't wait until Christmas!  I had to open it right away!
