Since the embryo transfer, I've been getting 23 shots a week. 14 are subcutaneous, so easy to do myself in the belly. (never ever would have thought that I'd be able to give myself shots at all but that's for a different blog posting)
But the butt shots.... Boy, did they hurt. Progesterone and delestrogen in the muscle. They'd hurt, and leave painful knots in my butt. I tried to keep my eyes on the prize, to remind myself of the reason for the shots. And that helped. Mostly.
But some nights, it was just too much. One more shot that I knew would hurt, well, I'd end up in tears and my poor husband would have to try to calm me down. It wasn't easy for either of us. Yet again I am reminded of how strong, amazing and patient he is.
But we had another good appointment yesterday - my first with my regular OB.
Little Buddy is still looking good, still growing on track.
And we found out that I can stop the progesterone and delestrogen. No more butt shots!
And in 2 weeks, no more heparin either.
From 23 shots a week to zero. We're moving in the right direction.
yay for now more butt shots! glad to hear things are going well. xo
